Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pete Hammonok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Materson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hammonok comes to the cage accompanied by Dreams. Mike Materson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Pete Hammonok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Materson!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammonok misses with a few strikes there.

Hammonok looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Materson!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hammonok misses with a head shot.
Materson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Hammonok is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Materson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Materson shrugs it off.
Materson wants to hold on but Hammonok pushes him away.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Materson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Poor strikes thrown by Hammonok there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Materson is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Hammonok stands up from mount. Strange move.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Hammonok.
Hammonok slaps away a takedown attempt from Materson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Materson fails with a takedown attempt.
Hammonok stuffs the takedown attempt from Materson. Materson gets slowly back to his feet.
Pete Hammonok has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Materson.

Hammonok scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Hammonok working the ground and pound but Materson is defending the strikes.

Hammonok tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hammonok swings around for an armbar but Materson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Hammonok's guard.
Hammonok is controlling Materson's posture.
Materson wants to control from the top but Hammonok keeps moving.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hammonok working for a triangle but Materson defends it easily.
Materson stopping the sweep attempt from Hammonok.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Materson being controlled here momentarily.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Materson trying to control the position from guard on top but Hammonok is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Materson won't allow Hammonok to sweep him here.

Materson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hammonok has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Materson has managed to get both his arms back between Hammonok's legs - danger averted.
Hammonok keeping moving, preventing Materson from controlling successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mike Materson wasn't active enough on the ground.

Hammonok dives in and scores a takedown into Materson's guard.
Materson looking for a sweep. Not yet Materson, not yet.
Hammonok with a flurry of punches that miss.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hammonok drops back looking for a leg! Materson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Materson manages to kick Hammonok off! Hammonok jumps back into Materson's guard.
Materson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hammonok. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hammonok drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hammonok jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pete Hammonok dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Hammonok gets the takedown into side control.

Hammonok is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Materson looks calm but he's in trouble here. Hammonok gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Materson is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Hammonok lets go of the hold and Materson can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Pete Hammonok!
