PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kors Svardet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcin Nevinyrral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Svardet comes into the arena with "Relax" by Frankie Goes To Hollywood blaring out of the sound system. Marcin Nevinyrral told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nevinyrral is looking to clinch but Svardet is avoiding it.
Nevinyrral shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Svardet accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Svardet connects with a couple of short punches.
Svardet thows a big elbow that misses.
Svardet working some strikes from top position.
Svardet keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Nevinyrral's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Svardet postures up in Nevinyrral's guard and throws a big left but Nevinyrral blocks it.

Svardet has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Svardet has gone for a leg lock! Nevinyrral slips out almost immediately though and dives into Svardet's guard.

Svardet stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Svardet wants it to stay on the feet.

Svardet closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Svardet lands in his opponent's guard.
Svardet postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Nevinyrral covers up, he's hurt! Svardet keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Svardet and the ref steps in to end the fight! Svardet can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
