Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Xavier Mendez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Elliot Ness!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ness as he avoids it easily.
No joy there for Mendez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ness thumps Mendez with a low kick.
Ness lands with an uppercut that bounces Mendez off the cage and back into rage.
Mendez throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Ness throws a wild body kick that Mendez sees coming a mile off.
Mendez waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ness.
Ness throws out a loose jab but Mendez uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mendez tries a head kick but it misses.
Ness checks a leg kick.
Mendez is looking to land body kicks.
Ness connects with a body shot that sends Mendez's belly button to the back.
Mendez is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ness misses with a looping left.
Mendez lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Elliot Ness has been cut.
Mendez takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Ness connects with a leg kick. Mendez looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Mendez takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Ness smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ness works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Mendez tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
A decent looking cross lands there for Ness.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ness is looking to slow Mendez down with leg kicks.
Ness tries to clinch up.
Ness throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mendez checks a low kick from Ness.
Ness tries to land a front kick but Mendez steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Mendez slips under a jab.
Ness misses with an uppercut. Mendez saw that one coming.
Ness throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Ness takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mendez throws a body punch but Ness moves out of range.
Mendez throws a series of punches but Ness avoids them all with ease.
Mendez takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Ness fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A right-left combo lands from Ness.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ness scores with a jab to the jaw.
Ness connects with a jab.
Mendez misses with a wild combination.
Ness lands a right hook to the body.
Elliot Ness is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mendez walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Ness throws a quick inside leg kick.
Ness tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ness misses with a body shot.
Mendez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ness moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ness swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ness thuds his shin into the meat of Mendez's side.
Ness chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Mendez takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ness drops Mendez with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Mendez looks back up at him and smiles so Ness waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Mendez is rocked!
Ness fakes the body blow, causing Mendez to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Mendez goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Elliot Ness!
