Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doug Campbell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sterling Kingdom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kingdom has chosen Mainlining Murder as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Doug Campbell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sterling Kingdom!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kingdom changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Campbell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Campbell looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Campbell defending against the ground and pound.
Kingdom throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Campbell works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Kingdom performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Kingdom is looking for a kimura but Campbell is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kingdom to get the leverage.
Kingdom takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Campbell is looking to control Kingdom's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Campbell avoid being mounted?
Campbell won't allow Kingdom to pass to mount.

Kingdom is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Kingdom is tying to control. Campbell wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Campbell is looking to improve his position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A head kick from Kingdom lands but Campbell takes it in his stride.

and Kingdom counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kingdom.

Campbell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kingdom tries to stand but Campbell is controlling from the bottom.
Kingdom working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Campbell's head.
Campbell has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Kingdom gets a clinch.

Kingdom breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kingdom closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Campbell has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kingdom avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Kingdom stalling.
Campbell goes for a takedown attempt but Kingdom pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Doug Campbell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kingdom shoots for a double leg takedown but Campbell sprawls well. He's pushed Kingdom's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kingdom looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
I looks like Kingdom might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Kingdom decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Kingdom feints and as Campbell raises his hands in defense, Kingdom changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Campbell keeping moving, preventing Kingdom from controlling successfully.
Kingdom slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Kingdom wants to control from the top but Campbell keeps moving.
Kingdom seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Kingdom won't allow Campbell to sweep him here.
Kingdom really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Campbell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Campbell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kingdom controls the pace.

Sterling Kingdom dominated that round.
That's time! Campbell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kingdom lands a nice leg kick that just misses Campbell's sensitive parts.
Kingdom is looking to slow Campbell down with leg kicks.

Kingdom scores a takedown into full mount!
Kingdom lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Campbell tries to hold on but Kingdom pushes him away.
Kingdom wants to control the pace but Campbell is squirming around nicely.
Campbell is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kingdom thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Kingdom stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Kingdom clinches up against the cage.
Campbell prevents a takedown attempt there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Campbell can't get the takedown.

Kingdom manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Kingdom looking to control.

Kingdom has his foot on Campbell's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Campbell works his way back into a safe position though.
Kingdom looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kingdom can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kingdom gets caught flat footed, as Campbell shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Kingdom is looking to take a break and control but Campbell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kingdom thows a huge punch but Campbell dodges it nicely.
Campbell wants to improve his position but Kingdom is controlling well.
Kingdom is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Kingdom tries to control but Campbell wriggling away.

Kingdom swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Campbell is now in Kingdom's guard. A big mistake from Kingdom there, giving up the dominant position!

Campbell drops back looking for a leg! Kingdom is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kingdom manages to kick Campbell off! Campbell jumps back into Kingdom's guard.

Kingdom has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Campbell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Campbell wants to control from the top but Kingdom keeps moving.
Kingdom looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Sterling Kingdom has got the better of the ground game so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sterling Kingdom showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Kingdom throws a right and a left that Campbell avoids nicely.

Kingdom shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Campbell's guard.
Kingdom not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Campbell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kingdom gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

and Kingdom counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Campbell!

Campbell bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Campbell is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Kingdom frees his head nicely. Oh but Campbell has switched to an armbar! Kingdom is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
