Alvarez comes into the arena with It's A Fight blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez thuds a left hand into Mack's body.

Mack shoots in and gets a takedown into Alvarez's guard.

Mack is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Alvarez wants to sweep here but Mack controlling him for the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alvarez is looking to stand back up but Mack counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Alvarez.
Alvarez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Alvarez is staying active underneath Mack, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Mack is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Alvarez defends it well.

Mack in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Alvarez tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Mack!
