Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pierre David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Lovell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pierre David!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Lovell!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
David tries to close the distance and clinch but Lovell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lovell fails in his attempt to clinch.
David really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
David fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lovell tries for a takedown but David sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
David scores with a jab to the head.
David lands with a slapping head kick.
David shoots in for a takedown but Lovell shows good takedown defense.

Lovell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in David's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

David not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
David is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

David shoots in but no luck this time.

Lovell gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Max Lovell wasn't active enough on the ground.
David shoots in but Lovell avoids the takedown attempt easily.
David wants to clinch up but Lovell keeps it at a distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lovell is defended easily by David.
David tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lovell paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Lovell drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Lovell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with David. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
David manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Lovell is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Lovell throws a strike but has given up his back in the process.
Lovell covers up after that shot from David.
Lovell tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

David has the hooks in. Lovell is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

David tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lovell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten David somewhat.

Lovell shoots in looking for a takedown. David tries to sprawl out of it but Lovell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. David manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
David shoots in but Lovell avoids the takedown attempt easily.
David changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lovell tries to avoid it but David manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lovell to the ground. Lovell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lovell closes the distance and clinches up with David, looking for a takedown. Lovell pushes David against the cage but David circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lovell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around David's waist but David gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lovell off to one side.

David wants to control but Lovell is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Well, if Lovell is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Lovell has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Lovell looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks David with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Max Lovell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Lovell winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
