PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hiroto Inoue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinji Aoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiroto Inoue!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinji Aoshi!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoshi bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Inoue misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Inoue tries to bum rush Aoshi with a series of wild strikes but Aoshi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Inoue fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Inoue misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Aoshi counters with a three punch combo that has Inoue backing up. Inoue nods at Aoshi to acknowledge the strikes.
Inoue blocks a head kick by Aoshi.
Aoshi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Aoshi wants it to stay on the feet.
Aoshi throws a head kick that misses.
Aoshi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Inoue shoots for a takedown but Aoshi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hiroto Inoue. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Inoue will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Inoue shoots for a double leg takedown but Aoshi sprawls well. He's pushed Inoue's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Aoshi looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Aoshi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shinji Aoshi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Aoshi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Aoshi wants it to stay on the feet.

Inoue closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Aoshi's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Inoue looking to pass the guard.
Aoshi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Inoue controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Aoshi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Inoue trying to control the position from guard on top but Aoshi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Hiroto Inoue wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Inoue shoots in and drives through. Aoshi sprawls well.
A head kick misses from Aoshi.
Horrible takedown by Inoue or perhaps it was just good defense by Aoshi which made him look bad.
Aoshi throws a head kick that half lands.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
An inside leg kick lands from Aoshi.
Inoue shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Aoshi sprawls well. Aoshi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Inoue gets slowly back to his feet.
Aoshi misses with a series of wild punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Inoue tries to close the distance and clinch but Aoshi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Inoue lands a really nice looking cross but Aoshi seems unphased.

Inoue jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Inoue misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A combination from Aoshi does no damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Aoshi moves away from the strike by Inoue.
Aoshi tries a head kick but it misses.
Inoue has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Hiroto Inoue has been cut.

Inoue is looking to clinch.
Aoshi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Aoshi throws a head kick that half lands.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Inoue takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Aoshi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Inoue throws out the jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shinji Aoshi dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hiroto Inoue's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


Aoshi lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Inoue shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Inoue raining down shots from the mount!
Inoue won't let Aoshi get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Inoue is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Inoue has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Inoue looking to secure an arm triangle but Aoshi defends it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Aoshi's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Inoue raining down hammerfists from mount.


It looks like Shinji Aoshi has been cut.
Aoshi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Inoue. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Inoue lands a big shot there that rocks Aoshi but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Inoue scores with a couple of good head shots there.


That has opened up Shinji Aoshi's cut even more.

Inoue is in the full mount, landing strikes.


The cut above Shinji Aoshi's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Shinji Aoshi's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Hiroto Inoue!
