The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hughes wants it to stay on the feet.
Hughes moves into the clinch.
Hughes lands a takedown into guard.
Hughes stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Landers cracks a nice hook into Hughes's ribs.
Landers fails to land the takedown.
Hughes throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Hughes throws a right and a left that both miss.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hughes lands a left and a right that send Landers crashing to the mat, dazed. Hughes thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Kevin Landers has been cut.
Landers is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Hughes lands a big head kick that sends Landers tumbling to the mat! Hughes takes a step backwards and waves Landers back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Landers is rocked!
Hughes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Landers as he jumps to the side.
Landers is still on wobbly legs! Can Hughes finish him?
Hughes feints a jab and as Landers dips his head, Hughes unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Landers right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Landers falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Hughes smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Cody Hughes!
