The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powell throws a right and a left that Laperouge avoids nicely.

Laperouge gets tackled into the cage by Powell. Powell maintains the clinch.

Powell has Laperouge pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Powell pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Laperouge tumbling to the mat - Powell dives into Laperouge's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Lelouch Laperouge.
Laperouge will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Powell is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Laperouge closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Powell to the mat! Powell manages to get full guard.
