PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kristof Nikitin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roddy Bowes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nikitin comes to the cage accompanied by Arch Enemy - My Apocalypse. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikitin moves out of range as Bowes strikes.

Nikitin closes the distance and pushes Bowes back into the cage.

Nikitin drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bowes gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Nikitin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Nikitin is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Bowes comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

and Bowes counters with a three punch combo that has Nikitin backing up. Nikitin nods at Bowes to acknowledge the strikes.
Nikitin is breathing heavily.
Bowes throws a sloppy head kick and Nikitin moves out of range easily.
Bowes doesn't manage to clinch there - Nikitin circles away.

Bowes misses with a lunging right hand
and Nikitin counters with a straight right hand.
Bowes throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Bowes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bowes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bowes lands a nice looking body shot.
Nikitin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bowes.
Bowes throws a lazy right hand but Nikitin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Nikitin cracks Bowes with a right hand to the side of the head.
Bowes swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Nikitin pushes Bowes up against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nikitin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Bowes lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Nikitin tries to pull guard but Bowes holds him up against the cage and eventually Nikitin drops back down to his feet.

Bowes gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Bowes pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Bowes lands a good knee to the midsection. Nikitin won't want to take too many of those.

Bowes tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bowes creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Nikitin's defenses.

Nikitin takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Bowes wants to clinch up but Nikitin keeps it at a distance.

The referee is keeping an eye on Bowes - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Nikitin changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bowes fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Bowes takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

The fighters circle momentarily. Bowes darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Bowes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The fight stays on the outside here - Bowes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nikitin blocks a head kick by Bowes.

A jab lands there for Bowes.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bowes is looking to clinch but Nikitin is avoiding it.
Crunch! Bowes slams his shin into Nikitin's torso.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bowes lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Bowes sends Nikitin crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Bowes is motioning to the referee to let Nikitin up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Roddy Bowes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bowes throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Nikitin crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
