The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter thuds a left hand into Gracie's body.
Gracie wants to clinch
and Carter counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carter circles away.
Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carter tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carter to the ground. Carter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Carter jabs Gracie to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Gracie wants to land a leg kick but Carter is out of range.
Carter fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Carter's jab looks to have found its range, popping Gracie under the eye.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Carter scores with a hook to the body. Gracie takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Carter dips to his left and cracks Gracie with an uppercut!
Carter lands with a shot to the body.

Rubin Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ruron Gracie.

Gracie is trying desperately to land a takedown but Carter is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Gracie.
and Carter counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Gracie! He's just covering up as Carter starts to tee off till referee steps in and stops the fight!
