Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Corey Bigs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Canuto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruno Canuto struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 136.9lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canuto looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Canuto changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bigs looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Canuto closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bigs circles away.

Canuto feints and as Bigs raises his hands in defense, Canuto changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Bigs tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bigs lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Canuto!
Bigs lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Bigs postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Canuto looks a forlorn figure.

Canuto is in a horrible position here. Bigs smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Bigs cracks Canuto with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Bigs has control of Canuto's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Canuto regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Canuto tries to roll but Bigs sticks to his back.
Canuto is covering up but some of the strikes from Bigs are getting through and doing damage.

Bigs has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Canuto has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
