Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hunter Gavin !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John White!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gavin tries to clinch but White moves out of range.
Gavin misses with a wild combination.
Gavin closes the distance and lands a one-two.

White scores with a takedown into Gavin 's guard.
White stops Gavin from standing up.
White controls from within his opponent's guard.
White's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John White hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Gavin wants to clinch but White slips to the side

and White counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gavin won't be happy with that.

Gavin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

John White has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

White forces Gavin back against the cage and clinches.

White stands and steps away. Gavin gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
White circles away from the clinch attempt.

White closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - White lands in his opponent's guard.

White gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

White fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gavin to the ground. White is now in Gavin 's guard.
Gavin is looking to stand up but White isn't so interested in that idea.

White decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

White clinches with his opponent.
White misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gavin .
Gavin misses with a punch on the inside.
White throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
White fails to pull the fight into his guard.
White wants a takedown but no success here.
Hunter Gavin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John White.
White has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gavin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

White works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
White is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

White decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gavin , up you get!

Gavin takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Hunter Gavin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sloppy strikes from Gavin . Those never looked like landing.
White stalks Gavin and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gavin 's face. Gavin staggers backwards, shaken.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gavin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hunter Gavin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

White decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
White is taking a breather. Gavin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by John White.
White tries to close the distance and clinch but Gavin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gavin wants to clinch but White slips to the side

and White counters by moving into the clinch.
White lands an uppercut.
Gavin has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Gavin tries to break free but White pushes him back against the cage.
Gavin tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

White gets control of Gavin 's arms and successfully pulls guard. White will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

White is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
White can't find room to land a body shot as Gavin controls the action.

Gavin misses with some punches.
Gavin misses with a punch on the inside.
White keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Gavin 's efforts to push away.
Gavin has a couple of punches blocked by White.
White lands a nice uppercut.
Gavin is trying to break the clinch but White has him pressed against the cage.

White has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

John White showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Gavin 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Gavin moves out of range as White throws a body kick.
Gavin tries a head kick but it misses.
Gavin circles away from the clinch attempt.

White shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Let's hope that White has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
White frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
White takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gavin is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! White has taken his back!

A bit of a pause in the action here. White controlling the positon.

White decides to stand back up. White steps back and let's Gavin get back to his feet.
Gavin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but White moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
White lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gavin circles away quickly and effectively.

White moves into the clinch successfully.
A shot in the inside from White.
White slowing the pace effectively.
Gavin wants to break the clinch but can't.
Gavin swings wildly with an uppercut but White uses good head movement to avoid it.
White blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

White is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
White drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Gavin gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Gavin lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

John White comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well White has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
