Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Connor Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Laurent Tesser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connor Ryan could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Laurent Tesser's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tesser closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ryan quickly recovers to half guard.

Tesser is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ryan has managed to free his arm - good work.

Tesser is looking for a kimura but Ryan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tesser to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tesser is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ryan is just riding it out for now. Tesser eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tesser thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ryan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tesser doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tesser manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Tesser is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Tesser drops back looking for a leg! Ryan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ryan manages to kick Tesser off! Tesser jumps back into Ryan's guard.

Tesser drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tesser jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ryan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Ryan takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Tesser is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ryan pulls his head out easily.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ryan connects with a nice short shot to Tesser's temple.
Ryan is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Ryan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ryan wants to take a breather but Tesser is having none of it.

Ryan is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Tesser is surviving well by controlling Ryan's body position as best he can.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ryan is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Tesser knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Tesser for a finish.

Tesser bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ryan manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Ryan lands with a few short shots to the body.
Ryan is looking to control Tesser's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ryan avoid being mounted?

Tesser drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ryan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Tesser has Ryan in his guard.
