Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, John Doe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Garth Fourie!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fourie sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Doe somewhat.

Doe closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Doe manages to break the clinch.
Doe throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Fourie's head.
Doe misses with a head kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Doe looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Doe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fourie tries to close the distance and clinch but Doe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Doe scores with a crisp jab that stopped Fourie in his tracks.
Doe lands with a straight right. Fourie didn't see that one coming.

Fourie doesn't manage to clinch there - Doe circles away.
Fourie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Doe slips a jab and a cross from Fourie.

Crunch! Doe slams his shin into Fourie's torso.
Fourie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Doe tries to avoid it but Fourie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Doe to the ground. Doe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Fourie enables Doe to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fourie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fourie tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Doe has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Fourie pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Doe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fourie's waist but Fourie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Doe off to one side.
Doe shoots in but no luck this time.

and Doe makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Fourie moves forwards but Doe connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Fourie leaves Doe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
