Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bigfoot Gaffney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vlad Sobaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bigfoot Gaffney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Sobaka!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sobaka is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gaffney gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Sobaka wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Sobaka manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gaffney preventing the sweep.
Gaffney is stalling in the full guard.
Gaffney trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Gaffney's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Gaffney advances to half guard.
Gaffney perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Sobaka is looking to improve his position.
Gaffney slows the pace down in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sobaka strikes from the bottom but Gaffney uses the opportunity to move to side control.
Sobaka tries to buck Gaffney off but Gaffney is having none of it.
Sobaka is not content to let Gaffney control the position.
Gaffney really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sobaka takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Gaffney just content to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sobaka manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gaffney's best efforts.
Sobaka wants to control but Gaffney is keeping busy.
Sobaka has hold of Gaffney's hands but Gaffney slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Gaffney thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Gaffney lands with a punch from half guard.
Gaffney wants to free his trapped foot but Sobaka is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Gaffney controlling the action here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sobaka has hold of Gaffney's hands but Gaffney slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Gaffney trying to control the pace.
Gaffney has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Gaffney is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Sobaka wants to control but Gaffney is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gaffney cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Gaffney wants to finish this one by submission but Sobaka is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gaffney.
Gaffney putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Gaffney controlling from mount.
Gaffney will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sobaka is in all sorts of trouble here.
Sobaka looks gassed!
Gaffney sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bigfoot Gaffney dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Sobaka tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gaffney manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gaffney displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sobaka.
Bigfoot Gaffney is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sobaka throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gaffney tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sobaka is in Gaffney's guard.

Gaffney is looking to sinch up a triangle. Sobaka throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gaffney's body to avoid the submission. Gaffney has instead reached around Sobaka's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gaffney arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Bigfoot Gaffney!
