Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Calamote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Tree (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calamote comes to the cage accompanied by I'm not a Superstar. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paulo Calamote!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rob Tree!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tree steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Calamote.
Tree connects with a good right hand that stumbles Calamote. Calamote circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Tree connects with a nice looking jab.

Tree has taken the fight to the clinch.
Tree tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Calamote avoids it.
Tree misses with a knee to the head.
Calamote stalls.
Calamote seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Tree throws a knee to the head but misses.
Calamote manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Calamote has hold of one of Tree's legs. Tree is fighting the takedown attempt but Calamote gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Tree really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Calamote. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Calamote is stalling in the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Calamote accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Calamote's corner is telling him to maintain position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tree can do anything to dispel that myth.
Tree is trying to control the position but Calamote postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Calamote throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Calamote rushes Tree and presses him up against the cage.
Calamote taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A short body shot lands from Calamote as the two fighters clinch.

Tree with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Tree pushes off an throws an elbow but Calamote leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
A bit of stalling here from Calamote.
Calamote keeps control of Tree as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Calamote takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Tree lands an elbow inside that Calamote shrugs off.
Tree pushes off an throws an elbow but Calamote leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Calamote has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tree is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Tree misses with a knee to the head.
Calamote pressing his opponent against the cage.
Tree tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Calamote avoids it.
Calamote is struggling to control the position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tree is trying to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Rob Tree will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Tree has Calamote up against the cage in a clinch.

Calamote keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Tree's efforts to push away.

Tree is trying to stall.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Tree.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Tree blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Tree takes a shot to the head.
The referee is keeping an eye on Calamote - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Calamote avoiding damage as Tree throws knees to the body.

Tree taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Calamote has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Tree regains guard immediately.
Calamote sitting in guard here, content to control.
Calamote is pushing down on Tree's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tree is fighting to maintain full guard but Calamote has managed to sneak the leg through.
Tree is looking to escape.
Tree is in trouble now - Calamote has advanced to mount!
Calamote has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tree is in a horrible position here. Calamote smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tree is in all sorts of trouble here.
Calamote content just to control the position here.
Calamote is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tree can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Calamote landing punches.
Calamote takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Tree can't escape the position.
Tree in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.


Tree is rocked!
Calamote connects with a bit shot that sees Tree covering up! More strikes from Calamote and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Calamote is our winner by TKO!
