Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dominic Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Wispe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wispe has chosen Me Against The World as his entrance music. Dominic Maia could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Matthew Wispe's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dominic Maia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew Wispe!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wispe throws a right and a left that both miss.
Maia is looking to clinch.
Wispe throws a sloppy head kick and Maia moves out of range easily.
Maia fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wispe avoids it really well and circles away.
Maia feints a jab promting Wispe to slip. Maia then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Wispe slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Maia has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Wispe finds it's way round the side to connect with Maia's head.
Maia tries a head kick but it misses.
Wispe dodges the punch combination from Maia.
Nice sprawl there from Wispe as Maia shoots in.

Maia closes the distance and clinches.
Wispe tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Maia just stands there and leans against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Maia has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Wispe uses from the top position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Wispe throws a strike but Maia rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Wispe had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Maia defends it easily.
Maia tries to stand but Wispe is controlling from the bottom.
Maia trying to control the position from guard on top but Wispe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Maia got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wispe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maia has managed to get both his arms back between Wispe's legs - danger averted.

Wispe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Maia avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Wispe is looking for a triangle but Maia pushes his legs off easily.
Maia slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Wispe tries to bench press Maia off him but Maia keeps the position.
Wispe is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Maia off and has taken his back!
Wispe gets his hands free as Maia looks to control.

Maia is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Wispe throwing sloppy strikes.

Wispe has Maia flattened out and is raining down punches.

Wispe is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Wispe throwing damaging strikes from the back! Maia could be in trouble here!

Wispe has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Maia has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
I really don't envy Maia right now.

Maia rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Maia is breathing heavily.
Maia is trying to stand up here but Wispe is controlling him well.

Wispe is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maia blocking the ground and pound attempt from Wispe.
Maia wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Wispe is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Maia is trying to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matthew Wispe dominated that round.
That's time! Maia's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Maia takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Maia walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
A thudding body kick lands there by Maia!
Maia lands a head kick. Wispe smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Maia misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dominic Maia is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Maia looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
