Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Charles Manson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Haile Selassie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Indian War Song. Selassie has chosen ... as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charles Manson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Haile Selassie!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Selassie looks to land a left hand but Manson moved out of range nicely.
Selassie misses with an uppercut. Manson saw that one coming.

Selassie closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Manson did well to prevent Selassie getting side control.
Selassie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Manson tries to kick Selassie off but Selassie keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Manson is looking to improve his position.
Selassie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Manson keeps working.
Selassie is taking a breather. Manson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Manson is controlling Selassie's position as best he can from this difficult position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Manson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Selassie is able to avoid easily.
Selassie looks to throw the jab but Manson is out of range.
Selassie throws a head kick that misses.
Manson misses with a body kick.
Manson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Manson wants it to stay on the feet.
Manson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Selassie.
Manson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Selassie is out of range.
Manson lands with a thumping leg kick.
Selassie scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Selassie just misses with a punch to the body.
Manson throws a nice outside leg kick.

Manson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Manson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Manson wants to control the pace but Selassie is squirming around nicely.

We're going to have a standup here because Charles Manson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Selassie gets caught flat footed, as Manson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Selassie wants to sweep but no luck.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Selassie throws a looping overhand right but Manson ducks down to avoid it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Manson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Selassie is controlling him.

Selassie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Manson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Manson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Selassie looks to land a left hand but Manson moved out of range nicely.
Selassie throws a hook but Manson avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Haile Selassie will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Selassie, as that shot connected.
Selassie throws a looping overhand right but Manson ducks down to avoid it.

Selassie throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Manson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Manson misses with a low kick.
Manson scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Selassie. Manson does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Selassie counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Selassie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Selassie prevents Manson from getting back to his feet.
Selassie is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Selassie wants to free his trapped foot but Manson is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Let's hope that Selassie has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Manson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Selassie tests Manson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Manson shoots in and drives through. Selassie sprawls well.
Manson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Selassie is defended easily by Manson.
Selassie goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

and Manson counters with a head kick. That will keep Selassie thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Manson throws a front kick aimed at Selassie's knee but Selassie avoids it well.
Manson takes a shot right to the bread basket.

letting Selassie counter with a right hand.
Selassie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Selassie avoids the head kick by Manson.
Manson is looking to land body kicks.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Selassie connects with a body shot.
Manson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Selassie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Charles Manson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Haile Selassie.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Selassie lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Manson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Manson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

And that's the end of the fight!
Haile Selassie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Selassie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
