PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Will Ferrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen God Gave Me Style as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferrell decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ferrell in particular looking to stall.
Jones wants to get back to his feet.
Ferrell is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Ferrell lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ferrell is controlling the pace.

Ferrell trying to mount his opponent but Jones defends it.
Ferrell is controlling the pace.
Ferrell lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Jones on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Jones regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Ferrell.
Ferrell's corner is telling him to maintain position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ferrell pushing down on Jones's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Ferrell content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Jones has hold of Ferrell's hands but Ferrell slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Ferrell tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jones knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Ferrell seems to be working for a kimura but Jones defends the submission attempt.

Ferrell missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Ferrell performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ferrell is working away from the top position though.
Ferrell looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ferrell is pressing down on Jones's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jones is holding on for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Ferrell counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jones!
Ferrell breaks from Jones's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Ferrell lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jones hang on?
Ferrell postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jones looks a forlorn figure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A big strike lands for Ferrell! That's really hurt Jones and he's turned his back - Ferrell keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Ferrell jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
