The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiley connects with an inside leg kick.
Johnson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Johnson shoots and misses
and Wiley counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Wiley uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Johnson.
Nice uppercut lands for Johnson. That snapped Wiley's head back.
Wiley connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Johnson lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wiley tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Johnson was well out of range. Poor timing from Wiley.
Wiley fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johnson manages to avoid it.

Kevin Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wiley scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Johnson misses with a hook. Wiley ducked under it nicely.
Wiley moves away from the strike by Johnson.
Johnson tries to bum rush Wiley with a series of wild strikes but Wiley uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Wiley is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
