Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gracie Jitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Stanfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aaron Stanfield!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stanfield throws a leg kick which misses Jitsu's front leg but catches the back leg as Jitsu tries to avoid it.
Jitsu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Jitsu thows a big elbow that misses.

Stanfield is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jitsu is controlling him.

Jitsu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stanfield's waist but Stanfield gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jitsu off to one side.

and Stanfield counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Stanfield.
Jitsu is looking to control Stanfield's arms but Stanfield gets an underhook and turns him. Now Jitsu has his back to the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Stanfield.
Jitsu is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Stanfield is defending well for now.
Stanfield gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Jitsu blocks a body shot from Stanfield.
Stanfield looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Stanfield lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Still in the clinch, Stanfield scores with a nice short uppercut.
Jitsu misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Stanfield.

Stanfield makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Stanfield.

Jitsu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stanfield pinned against the cage. Stanfield gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gracie Jitsu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jitsu motions for Stanfield to come forward. Jitsu throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Jitsu fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and Stanfield counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Stanfield uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jitsu has time to react.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jitsu moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Stanfield moves into the clinch successfully.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gracie Jitsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jitsu moves out of range as Stanfield strikes.
Stanfield goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aaron Stanfield dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Jitsu tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Stanfield is able to avoid easily.
