The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Nikitin. Beautiful body shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Balboa misses the target.
Balboa throws a jab when Nikitin was well out of range.
Stone Balboa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nikitin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Balboa defends it nicely.
Balboa looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Nikitin connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Balboa's hands.
A combination from Balboa does no damage.
Nikitin throws a left and a right that both miss
and Balboa cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Nikitin lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Nikitin keeps control of Balboa as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Nikitin tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Balboa's elbow.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Nikitin jumps guard but Balboa stands there with Nikitin around his waist. Nikitin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Nikitin has Balboa pressed against the cage, preventing Balboa from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
A frustrated look appears on Balboa's face as he tries to break the clinch.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Nikitin seems keen to control Balboa's posture.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
