PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Androcles Gottlob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Saint Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Androcles Gottlob !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Saint Pierre!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saint Pierre is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gottlob .
Saint Pierre rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gottlob cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Saint Pierre walks forward, straight into a front kick from Gottlob .
Saint Pierre looks gassed!
Gottlob moves out of range as Saint Pierre strikes.
Gottlob moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Saint Pierre throws a right hand that misses

and Gottlob counters with a single leg into guard. Saint Pierre didn't expect that.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Gottlob keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Saint Pierre's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gottlob got a little sloppy there for a moment and Saint Pierre has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gottlob has managed to get both his arms back between Saint Pierre's legs - danger averted.
Gottlob works over Saint Pierre with some ground and pound from guard.
Gottlob with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

That has opened up Jean Saint Pierre's cut even more.
Gottlob controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gottlob has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jean Saint Pierre's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
