The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vovchanchyn shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Malybaev is trying to defend but Vovchanchyn finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vovchanchyn is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Malybaev can't fight it off and eventually Vovchanchyn manages to take the fight to the floor. Malybaev looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Malybaev has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Vovchanchyn is proving hard to escape from.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Malybaev accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Vovchanchyn wants to stand up but Malybaev is controlling him.

Vovchanchyn tries to score a body lock takedown but Malybaev shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Malybaev can't break the clinch.
Malybaev has had enough of the clinch but Vovchanchyn keeps him there for the moment.

Vovchanchyn lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Malybaev backwards.
Malybaev tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vovchanchyn smiles and moves away.

Malybaev dives in and grabs Vovchanchyn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vovchanchyn pushes down on Malybaev's head and hops out.

Malybaev tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Malybaev throws a knee to the head but misses.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Vovchanchyn creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Vovchanchyn pushes Malybaev back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Vovchanchyn breaks from the clinch.
Vovchanchyn slaps away a takedown attempt from Malybaev, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Asylbek Malybaev. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Vovchanchyn lands a left and a right that send Malybaev crashing to the mat, dazed. Vovchanchyn thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Asylbek Malybaev has been cut.

Vovchanchyn ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Malybaev out cold! The fight is over!
