The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like John Weichanthal has been cut.
Mikhailov throws a nice looking combination but Weichanthal bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

That was a close round but I would say that Anton Mikhailov will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Weichanthal lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Mikhailov misses with a double jab.

Mikhailov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Weichanthal swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Weichanthal changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mikhailov fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Mikhailov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mikhailov, as that shot connected.
Mikhailov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Weichanthal.

Mikhailov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Weichanthal can't get the takedown.

Anton Mikhailov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Weichanthal.
Mikhailov is pressed up against the cage. Weichanthal has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mikhailov down to the mat. Mikhailov avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Mikhailov catches Weichanthal with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Weichanthal forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
