Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herring stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Herring wants it to stay on the feet.
Free lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Heath Herring has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Free looks for the body kick but Herring saw that one coming.
Free tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Herring manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Herring throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Free sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Free throws a head kick but Herring moves out of range.
Free scores with a hook to the body. Herring takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Free decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Free thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Herring's head.
Herring is trying to stand up here but Free is controlling him well.
Herring wants to control but Free is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Free tries to pass the half guard into mount. Herring knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Free stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Herring to get to his feet.

Free gets the takedown into side control.
Free throws an elbow but Herring slips to the side and avoids it well.

Free decides to stand back up. Free steps back and let's Herring get back to his feet.
Free shoots in looking for a takedown but Herring manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Free's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Free is defended easily by Herring.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Riley Free. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Herring tries a low kick but Free avoids it.

Herring chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Free avoids the head kick by Herring.
Free shoots in for a takedown but Herring shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Herring will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Free stands up and beckons Herring to his feet.

Free shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Free has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Free tries to control but Herring wriggling away.

Herring reaches up to try and pull Free in and control his posture, but Free latches on to an arm and pivots quickly for an armbar! Herring taps out and this one is all over!
