PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oitink Itch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Oitink Itch was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Chris Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Oitink Itch!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Left hook, right uppercut from Itch.


It looks like Chris Thomas has been cut.
Thomas tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Itch counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Thomas is pulling down on Itch's head to control his posture.
Itch preventing the sweep.
Thomas not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Itch trying to control but Thomas is working from the bottom.
Itch controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Itch is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Thomas sees it coming and defends easily.

Itch is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Itch stays in close to Thomas's body and controls the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Itch decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Thomas's guard.

Itch is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Itch not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Itch is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Itch has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Itch is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Thomas can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Thomas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Itch on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Itch can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Thomas is looking to escape.

Itch moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Thomas has worked his arm free - good work by Thomas!

Let's hope that Itch has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

and Itch counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Itch decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Thomas's guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Itch won't allow Thomas to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Itch wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving.
Itch controls from within his opponent's guard.
Thomas has momentary wrist control but Itch slips an elbow through the middle.
Itch controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Itch tries to free his leg and advance position but Thomas is retaining full guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Thomas wants to stand but Itch is controlling the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Oitink Itch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Itch lands the left hand.

and Itch counters with a stiff right hand.
Thomas tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Itch makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Itch counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Thomas wants the takedown. Itch is fighting it off but Thomas persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Itch's guard against the cage.
Thomas has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Itch is pulling down on Thomas's head to control his posture.
Thomas wants to stand and escape but instead Itch has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Thomas wants to stand up but Itch is controlling him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Thomas keeping moving, preventing Itch from controlling successfully.

Thomas can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Itch controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Oitink Itch was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Thomas shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Itch shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Thomas's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oitink Itch is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Itch has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Itch controlling the position easily from mount.
Itch has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Itch's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Oitink Itch wasn't active enough on the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Oitink Itch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Itch has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
