The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chris darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chris is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Gracie reverses the position - he's now on top in Chris's guard.
Gracie stops Chris from standing up.

Chris pushes Gracie off and gets back to his feet.

Chris shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Chris is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Gracie regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Chris.

Chris is pushing down on Gracie's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gracie is fighting to maintain full guard but Chris has managed to sneak the leg through.

Chris is nestled in close to Gracie, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Chris throws and elbow that misses. Gracie uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Chris's guard. Nice move by Gracie!

Gracie postures up in Chris's guard and throws a big left but Chris blocks it.

Chris is trying to control the position but Gracie postures up.
Gracie connects with a couple of short punches.

Chris wriggles free and stands up.

Chris closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gracie to the mat! Gracie manages to get full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gracie enables Chris to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gracie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Chris is stalling here. Gracie is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Chris seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Gracie has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Chris is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gracie off and has taken his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chris has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Gracie.

Gracie is rocked!

Chris is landing big shots and Gracie is squirming looking to escape! He can't escape though and the ref jumps in to end the fight!
