Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Barack Bush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kuula Kallo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barack Bush has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Barack Bush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kuula Kallo!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bush fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bush tries to clinch but Kallo moves out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Kallo breaks the clinch.
Bush wants to clinch
and Kallo counters with a low kick, right behind Bush 's knee.
Bush tries to close the distance and clinch but Kallo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bush tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kallo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bush somewhat.
Bush changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kallo tries to avoid it but Bush manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kallo to the ground. Kallo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Barack Bush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bush darts in trying to clinch

and Kallo counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kallo.
Bush lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Kallo tries to land knees in the clinch but Bush avoids the damage to the body.
Bush looking to slow down the pace here.
Bush fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kallo blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Kallo lands a knee to the body.
Kallo tries to pull guard but Bush won't allow it.
Bush doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Kallo pulls Bush into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Bush pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kallo is keeping the position for now.

Bush gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Bush wants to clinch up but Kallo keeps it at a distance.
Bush lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Bush tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kallo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bush really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kallo gets tackled into the cage by Bush. Bush maintains the clinch.

Kallo pulls guard effortlessly.
Bush wanted to stand there but Kallo had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bush trying to control the position from guard on top but Kallo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kallo can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kallo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Bush looking to pass the guard.
Bush passes Kallo's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bush throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Bush tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Bush wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kallo keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bush wants to stand up but Kallo is controlling the position.
Bush stops Kallo from getting back to his feet.
Bush frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Bush sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Bush working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Kallo looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Bush! Submission of the night perhaps?

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Barack Bush!
