The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guetzlaff forces Pad back against the cage and clinches.
Guetzlaff tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Pad avoids it.
Pad tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pad is looking to stand up but Guetzlaff isn't so interested in that idea.

Guetzlaff is pushing down on Pad's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pad is fighting to maintain full guard but Guetzlaff has managed to sneak the leg through.
Guetzlaff perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Draybil Guetzlaff.

Max E Pad has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Pad throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Guetzlaff.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pad wants to get back to striking at distance but Guetzlaff won't allow it.

That has opened up Max E Pad's cut even more.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Guetzlaff takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Guetzlaff creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Pad with a big uppercut! Pad tries to clinch up but Guetzlaff pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Pad to the mat! Pad covers up and Guetzlaff unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
