Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Iron Vines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Askren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vines kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Where Dem Girls At. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Askren keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Askren throws a body punch but Vines moves out of range.
Askren is looking to clinch but Vines is avoiding it.
Askren throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Vines is trying hard to land a takedown here. Askren sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Askren throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Askren drives through and clinches with Vines against the cage.

Askren throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Viness head.
Vines tries to pull guard but Askren won't allow it.

John Askren showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Vines tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Askren smiles and moves away.
Askren is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Vines rather than just go for the knockout.
Askren ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vines moves away.

Iron Vines has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Askren is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vines's half guard.
Askren uses his free foot to push down on Vines's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Vines.
Askren content just to control the position here.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Askren comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Askren has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
