And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Diego Rios!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rios gets a takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Dela Cruz is trying to stand.
Rios looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Dela Cruz tries to get to full guard but Rios has control of the leg.
Rios seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Dela Cruz has hold of Rios's hands but Rios slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Dela Cruz is looking to improve his position.
Rios lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dela Cruz is trying to maintain the position but Rios is very close to passing his half guard.
Rios is pressing down on Dela Cruz's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dela Cruz is holding on for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters are battling for position here. Dela Cruz manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Rios drops back looking for a leg! Dela Cruz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dela Cruz manages to kick Rios off! Rios jumps back into Dela Cruz's guard.

Rios trying to control but Dela Cruz is working from the bottom.
Rios stands up over Dela Cruz, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Rios is working Dela Cruz over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Rios wants to control from the top but Dela Cruz keeps moving.
Dela Cruz can't keep his opponent in guard - Rios advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Dela Cruz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Dela Cruz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rios is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Rios is nestled in close to Dela Cruz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Rios is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dela Cruz is just riding it out for now. Rios eventually gives up the hold.
