The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mean scores with a one two! Doe had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Doe showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mean.
Mean looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Doe is fending him off so far but Mean persists. Nope, Doe circles away and we're back to standing.
Mean drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Mean clinches up against the cage.

Doe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
No joy there for Mean, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Doe closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Doe lands in his opponent's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Doe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Mean escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Doe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mean is trying to keep Doe in close.
Mean keeping full guard, as Doe tries to pass.
Mean manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mean has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Doe's face.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mean is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Doe is wriggling around trying to escape.
BOOM! Mean connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Mean raining down shots from the mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doe tries to hold on but Mean pushes him away.
Mean landing strikes from the mount and Doe is in trouble!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mean cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Oh Doe is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
