The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Hernandez misses.
Bong ducks under a wild hook from Hernandez.
Hernandez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bong misses with a takedown attempt - Hernandez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bong misses with a kick to the body.
Bong stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bong wants it to stay on the feet.

Hernandez looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Hernandez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bong keeps working.
Bong is trying to control but can't.
Bong makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bong.
Bong has his hands on Hernandez's head, controlling the position.
Bong's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Bong escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hernandez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hernandez is looking to work some ground and pound but Bong has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hernandez content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Bong has locked up a guillotine! Bong's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Hernandez is holding on here and Bong must be using up a lot of energy. Hernandez has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Bong gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
