The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vinici keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Harris.
Vinici moves out of range of the body kick.
Vinici stuffs the takedown.
Harris shoots in looking for a takedown but Vinici manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Harris's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Harris on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Vinici. Vinici obviously looking to wear him down.
Harris misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Melvin Harris. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vinici uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Harris.
Melvin Harris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vinici shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Harris pinned against the cage. Harris gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Harris pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Vinici wants to clinch up but Harris keeps it at a distance.
Harris throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Harris looks to land a body kick but Vinici moved away.
Harris throws a sloppy head kick

and Vinici counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vinici trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Vinici stands up over Harris, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Vinici wanted to stand there but Harris had control of the position.
Vinici looks gassed!
Harris wants to stand but Vinici is controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Melvin Harris wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Nice straight punches there by Harris. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Harris.

It looks like Kevin Vinici has been cut.
Harris looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Harris throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Vinici changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Harris tries to avoid it but Vinici manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Harris to the ground. Harris escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Harris scores with a nice strike.
Nice sprawl there from Harris as Vinici shoots in.
Vinici closes this distance looking for a takedown but Harris circles away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vinici takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Harris looks to score with a jab to the body but Vinici is just out of range.
Harris throws out a powerful jab.
Harris thuds his right hand into Vinici's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Harris drops his shoulder and cracks Vinici with a huge uppercut! Vinici goes down! Can Harris finish him?

Vinici is rocked!

Harris loads up on a big left hand. Vinici felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Harris looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Vinici can't hide his disappointment, as Harris celebrates the victory.
