Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alan Mael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Izzo Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mael comes to the ring accompanied by It's Not All About You. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mael shoots in for a double leg but Burns sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Burns looks to land a combination but Mael avoids it well.
Mael misses with a wild body shot.
Mael tries to land a leg kick but Burns saw it coming and moves away.
Mael looks to land a left hand but Burns moved out of range nicely.
Burns thows a body kick. Mael tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Burns clinches up with Mael and pushes him back against the ropes.

Mael manages to break the clinch.
Mael takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Burns with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A nice combination there by Burns.
Burns rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mael moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mael tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Burns paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Burns lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A head kick misses from Burns.
Burns fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mael looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mael avoids the head kick by Burns.
Burns looks gassed!
Burns throws a nice looking combination but Mael bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Burns defending well as Mael loads up on a big left hand.
Mael throws a hook to the side of Burns's head but Burns sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mael misses with a wild body shot.
Mael swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Burns leaves Mael with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Izzo Burns is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Mael closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Mael is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Burns defends it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mael thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Mael wants to lay and pray for a moment but Burns keeps working.
Burns really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mael . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Mael is looking for a kimura but Burns is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mael to get the leverage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mael seems to be looking for submissions.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mael is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Burns defends it well.

Mael in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Burns tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Mael !
