Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Nut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terry Nut has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, John Clark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Terry Nut!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Clark or perhaps it was just good defense by Nut which made him look bad.
Nut throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Clark shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Nut manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Nut wants to stand but Clark is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nut keeping moving, preventing Clark from controlling successfully.

Nut pushes Clark off and scrambles back to his feet.
Clark closes the distance and clinches up with Nut, looking for a takedown. Clark pushes Nut against the cage but Nut circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Nut misses with a combination

and Clark counters with a shoot takedown. Nut fights it but they end up in guard.
Clark trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Nut pushes Clark off and gets back to his feet.
Nut lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Clark at a distance.
Clark shoots in looking for a takedown. Nut tries to sprawl out of it but Clark keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nut manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Clark. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nut cracks Clark with a good jab.
Nut looks to land a combination. Clark sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Clark fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nut avoids it really well and circles away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nut scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Clark doesn't seem bothered though.
Clark shoots for a double leg takedown but Nut sprawls well. He's pushed Clark's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Clark shoots in and bounces Nut off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Nut utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Clark wants to control from the top but Nut keeps moving.
Nut is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Clark thows a big elbow that misses.
Clark throws a strike but Nut rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Nut wanted to stand there but Clark had control of the position.
Clark working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Nut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Clark is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nut is controlling him.
Nutis looking to pass into half guard but Clark pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Clark is in guard.
Nut keeping moving, preventing Clark from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Clark ducks right into an uppercut from Nut.
Nut scores with a jab. Clark acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Clark shoots for a takedown but Nut saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Nut throws a series of punches but Clark avoids them all with ease.
Nut rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Clark moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Clark's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Nut connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Clark scrambles back to his feet.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Clark changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nut tries to avoid it but Clark manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nut to the ground. Nut escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Nut lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Clark circles away quickly and effectively.
Clark shoots in for a takedown but Nut shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nut stalks Clark and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Clark's face. Clark staggers backwards, shaken.

Nut shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Clark eats them both and turns towards Nut to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Terry Nut is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Nut throws a combination. Clark tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Nut lands with a nice body punch.
Clark shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

A lazy left from Nut finds it's target.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
