Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Drew Step!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Step swinging wildly here.
Step shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Boyka sprawls well. Boyka wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Step gets slowly back to his feet.
Yuri Boyka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boyka shoots in but Step avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Step tries to clinch but Boyka is having none of it.
Boyka tries for a takedown but Step sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Step shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Boyka is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Step is aware though and is defending well.
Step is looking to stand up but Boyka won't let him.
Boyka keeping full guard, as Step tries to pass.
Boyka has control of Step's left arm, preventing Step from doing any damage.

Boyka controls Step momentarily but Step frees himself.
Step stopping the sweep attempt from Boyka.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boyka is breathing heavily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Yuri Boyka.
Step dips to his left and cracks Boyka with an uppercut!
Step tries to clinch up but Boyka circles away and keeps his distance.

Boyka tries to keep at a distance but Step has taken the fight into the clinch.

Step lands an elbow just above Boyka 's eye.

Step manages to break the clinch.
Some wild striking there from Step.

Boyka closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Step's guard.
Boyka won't allow Step to get back to his feet.
Boyka trying to control the position from guard on top but Step is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Boyka is in close to Step's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Step is wriggling around but Boyka manages to pass to half guard.
Step wants to control but Boyka is keeping busy.
Boyka is looking to advance position but Step won't allow it.

Boyka is trying to work for a kimura but Step is defending well.
Step is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Step trying to control but Boyka postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Drew Step was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Boyka blocks a head kick by Step.

Step drops Boyka with a beautiful combination! Boyka stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Step is looking for the KO!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Drew Step dominated that round.

Step tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Boyka is rocked!

It looks like Yuri Boyka has been cut.
Step cracks Boyka with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Boyka falls to his knees and Step doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
