The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Funchez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Funchez feints a jab promting Collins to slip. Funchez then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Collins slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Funchez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Collins clinches.
Funchez drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Collins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Funchez fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Collins escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Funchez is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Funchez lands with a nice body punch.

Collins rushes Funchez and presses him up against the cage.

Collins has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Funchez regains guard immediately.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Collins stands up and waves to Funchez to follow him.
Collins shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Funchez as he avoids it easily.

Collins has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Funchez finds it's way round the side to connect with Collins's head.
Funchez connects with a jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Funchez clobbers Collins with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Funchez fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Funchez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Frank Funchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cal Collins.
Funchez moves into range and connects with a jab.

Collins has Funchez up against the cage in a clinch.
Collins blocks an uppercut.

Collins has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Funchez uses from the top position.
Collins is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Funchez wants to control from the top but Collins keeps moving.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Collins is on top in guard.
Collins stands and throws Funchez's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Collins connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Funchez some visible discomfort.

Collins tries for a kimura but Funchez is defending well.
Funchez tries to buck Collins off but Collins is having none of it.

A lull in the action here.
Funchez tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Collins presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Collins quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Collins but it's paid off an Funchez is forced to tap! Nice work by Collins.
