PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ong Bak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mudrc Bukviconte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bak's entrance music is One Night In Bangkok. A fine choice. The key to victory for Ong Bak has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bak lands with a nice body punch.
Bukviconte takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Bukviconte shoots in looking for a takedown but Bak manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bukviconte's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Bak throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bak will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bak slaps away a takedown attempt from Bukviconte, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ong Bak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mudrc Bukviconte.

Bak stalks Bukviconte and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bukviconte's face. Bukviconte staggers backwards, shaken.

Bak works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Bukviconte shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bak but Bak pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bak enables Bukviconte to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bak manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Bukviconte is working to tighten is grip on Bak's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Bak has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Bukviconte is really squeezing tight and eventually Bak passes out! Bukviconte breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
