Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Harry Balsac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Donnie Darko!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darko takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Balsac shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Darko eats them both and turns towards Balsac to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Balsac lands a jab to the nose.
Balsac scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
A slow jab from Darko misses its intended target.
Balsac connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Balsac throws a leg kick but Darko checks it.
Darko misses with a low kick.
Balsac jabs Darko to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Darko swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Darko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Balsac swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Balsac throws a nice looking combination but Darko bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Balsac throws a chopping leg kick but Darko manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Darko misses with a head kick.
Balsac throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Darko.
Darko is looking to clinch.
Balsac misses with a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Balsac scores with a jab to the head.
Darko thows a left - swing and a miss!
Balsac looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Darko takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Darko clinches with his opponent.
Balsac gets control of Darko's arms and successfully pulls guard. Balsac will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Darko is stalling in the full guard.
Darko stands and throws Balsac's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Darko is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Balsac will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
You can see the frustration on Balsac's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Darko is working Balsac over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Darko lands some shots froms side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Darko cracks Balsac with a big right hand but Balsac just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Balsac tries to bench press Darko off him but Darko keeps the position.
Balsac sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Darko is looking for a kimura but Balsac is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Darko to get the leverage.
Darko is looking to take a break and control but Balsac is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Balsac manages to get to full guard.
Darko must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Darko trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Darko has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Balsac to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Darko is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Balsac pulls down on the head and he's put Darko to sleep! This one is all over!
