Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between DJ Wegesin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, DJ Wegesin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jordan Lee!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Wegesin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Wegesin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Lee looking to pass the guard.
Lee wants to control from the top but Wegesin keeps moving.
Lee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wegesin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Wegesin pushes Lee off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Lee shoots in for a double leg but Wegesin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

DJ Wegesin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan Lee.

Lee ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wegesin moves away.

Wegesin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lee postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wegesin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lee, into his guard.
Wegesin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Wegesin is fighting to break Lee's control of his arms but Lee is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round but I would say that DJ Wegesin will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Wegesin stuffs the takedown attempt from Lee. Lee gets slowly back to his feet.
Lee shoots in for a takedown but Wegesin shows good takedown defense.
Lee takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Wegesin lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Lee looks for a takedown but Wegesin sprawls well.

Jordan Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wegesin misses with a hook. Lee ducked under it nicely.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lee.

Lee swings around for an armbar but Wegesin sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lee's guard.
Wegesin stays in close to Lee's body and controls the position.
Lee is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Lee isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Wegesin stacks Lee on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Wegesin!

Lee is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Wegesin is thwarting Lee's attempts to control the position.
Lee tries to get to full guard but Wegesin has control of the leg.

Lee is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Wegesin pulls his head out easily.
Wegesin is taking a breather. Lee says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Lee is pressing down on Wegesin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Lee keeping moving, preventing Wegesin from controlling successfully.

Lee looking for a sweep. Not yet Lee, not yet.

Wegesin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lee looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Wegesin passes into half guard.
Lee wants to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Lee changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wegesin tries to avoid it but Lee manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wegesin to the ground. Wegesin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lee lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Wegesin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Wegesin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Lee misses with a takedown attempt - Wegesin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Wegesin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wegesin loads up on a big right hand but Lee slips the punch.
Lee changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wegesin tries to avoid it but Lee manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wegesin to the ground. Wegesin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
DJ Wegesin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wegesin throws a nice looking combination but Lee bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Lee shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lee was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lee goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Wegesin turns into him and now he's in Lee's guard.
Wegesin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Lee escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wegesin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lee is trying to control the position but Wegesin postures up.
Lee throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Wegesin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lee's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lee wants to sweep here but Wegesin controlling him for the moment.

Wegesin is looking for a kimura but Lee is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wegesin to get the leverage.

That was a close round but DJ Wegesin did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
