Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hank Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malvin Maldi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maldi has chosen Loituma TECHNO! as his entrance music. Malvin Maldi struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 146.6lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Cole misses its intended target.
Cole defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Maldi.

Maldi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cole looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Maldi lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Maldi throws a lazy right hand but Cole sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Cole slips under a jab.
Cole throws a jab but it's blocked by Maldi.
Cole misses with a hook. Maldi ducked under it nicely.

Cole scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Maldi doesn't seem bothered though.
Cole displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Maldi throws out the jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Cole, as that shot connected.

It looks like Malvin Maldi has been cut.

Cole jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Maldi closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Cole fails to land with a series of punches.
Maldi takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Cole cracks Maldi with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Maldi tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Cole pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Maldi is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hank Cole!
