Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Manny Pacquiao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paruna Fernandino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paruna Fernandino told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pacquiao closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Still in half guard, Pacquiao seems content to control.
Pacquiao's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Pacquiao looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Pacquiao working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Pacquiao takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Pacquiao has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Pacquiao is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Manny Pacquiao just wasn't active enough.
Fernandino takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Pacquiao changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fernandino looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Fernandino is bucking up trying to escape but Pacquiao cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Manny Pacquiao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pacquiao scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Pacquiao tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fernandino paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Fernandino is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pacquiao fails in his attempt to clinch.
Pacquiao looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fernandino is fending him off so far but Pacquiao persists. Nope, Fernandino circles away and we're back to standing.

Fernandino is rocked!
Pacquiao steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Fernandino is out on his feet! Pacquiao sets himself and nearly takes Fernandino 's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Manny Pacquiao!
