Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Maxence Laurentian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quentin Cane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cane has chosen Alice In Chains - Man In The Box as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maxence Laurentian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quentin Cane!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Reed Andrews and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laurentian cracks Cane with an open hand slap.
Cane throws a leg kick but Laurentian sees it coming and moves out of range.
Cane connects with a nice looking jab.
Laurentian thows a body shot but no joy.
Cane scores with a jab.
Laurentian falls off balance throwing a combination
and Cane counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Maxence Laurentian has been cut.
A big right from Laurentian misses.
Cane moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Laurentian throws the left hand but Cane avoids the punch easily.
Cane darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Cane is looking for a kimura but Laurentian is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cane to get the leverage.

Laurentian tries to get to full guard but Cane has control of the leg.
Laurentian is trying is best to control the position here.

Laurentian trying to hold on to Cane's head to control him but Cane postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Laurentian wants to get back to full guard.

Cane seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Laurentian does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Laurentian misses with an uppercut. Cane saw that one coming.
Laurentian tries to land a leg kick but Cane saw it coming and moves away.
Laurentian throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Laurentian ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Laurentian fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cane manages to avoid it.
Laurentian on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Cane moves out of range as Laurentian strikes.
Cane drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cane keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Laurentian's head.
Laurentian controls Cane momentarily but Cane frees himself.

Cane trying to control the position from guard on top but Laurentian is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Laurentian swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Laurentian is pulling down on Cane's head. It's preventing any offense from Cane, at least for the moment.
Cane won't allow Laurentian to sweep him here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Laurentian misses with a jab, cross combination.
Laurentian keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Nice defenses there by Laurentian.

Cane steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Laurentian.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cane ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Laurentian uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cane.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Laurentian misses with a looping left.
A left lands for Cane.
Cane throws a lazy right hand but Laurentian sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Laurentian throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cane takes a swing at Laurentian's ribcage but misses.
Cane dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Laurentian takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Cane throws a leg kick which misses Laurentian's front leg but catches the back leg as Laurentian tries to avoid it.
Cane throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Cane misses the shot to the body.
Laurentian misses the shot to the body.

Cane drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Laurentian's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cane landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Cane misses with the ground and pound.

Laurentian managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Cane.
Laurentian is looking to reverse the position.

Cane is staying tight to Laurentian's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The referee asks Cane politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Cane prefers to stall for the moment though.

Quentin Cane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Laurentian's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!
Cane feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Laurentians jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Laurentian uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cane.
Laurentian keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cane.
Cane lands a glancing blow to the side of Laurentian's head.
Laurentian throws a body kick that misses.
Cane tries to move into range but Laurentian moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Laurentian slips under a jab.
Laurentian misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The fighters circling - Cane throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Cane throws a series of strikes that have Laurentian backpedaling.

Nice uppercut there from Laurentian.
Cane swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Laurentian.
Quentin Cane seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Laurentian works the jab nicely.
Laurentian buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Laurentian lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Cane is rocked!
Laurentian throws a hook but Cane avoids it easily.
Cane is still on wobbly legs! Can Laurentian finish him?
Cane takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Cane takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Laurentian drops Cane with a huge uppercut! Cane drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Laurentian is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Maxence Laurentian!
