The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Day tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pelaez swivels and escapes.
The Day closes the distance and clinches up with Pelaez, looking for a takedown. The Day pushes Pelaez against the cage but Pelaez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pelaez tries to clinch but fails miserably

and The Day counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The Day trying to control but Pelaez is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The Day gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

and The Day decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pelaez's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The Day tries to free his leg and advance position but Pelaez is retaining full guard.
The Day might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The Day pushes down on Pelaez's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Pelaez tries to kick The Day off but The Day keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The Day decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

The Day seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Pelaez is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
