The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White lands a leg kick that knocks Emanuel off balance momentarily.
White slips under a jab from Emanuel.
White attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
White swings away with a leg kick that misses.

White lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Emanuel tests White's chin there with a solid looking shot.

White will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
White throws a leg kick but Emanuel sees it coming and moves out of range.

Emanuel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
White is looking to regain half guard here but Emanuel keeps moving and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Emanuel wants to stand but White has his arm trapped.
White tries to bench press Emanuel off him but Emanuel keeps the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

White jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Emanuel manages to avoid the submission attempt.

White swings around for an armbar but Emanuel sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into White's guard.

Emanuel got a little sloppy there for a moment and White has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Emanuel has managed to get both his arms back between White's legs - danger averted.

White escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Emanuel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
White is breathing heavily.
Emanuel would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

White is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
