Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Saul Rubenstein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fresh Hamz!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jonathan Paton and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rubenstein.
Rubenstein stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hamz.
Fresh Hamz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hamz lands with a hook. Rubenstein tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Rubenstein walks into a jab.
Hamz connects with an inside leg kick.
Hamz lands with a shot to the body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hamz.
Hamz scores with a body shot.
Hamz moves into range and connects with a jab.

Hamz scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rubenstein doesn't seem bothered though.
Hamz throws a leg kick which misses Rubenstein's front leg but catches the back leg as Rubenstein tries to avoid it.
Rubenstein gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Rubenstein's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hamz connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rubenstein scrambles back to his feet.

Rubenstein shoots in but no luck this time.
Rubenstein moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Hamz is looking to slow Rubenstein down with leg kicks.

Rubenstein has a takedown stuffed.

Rubenstein closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hamz circles away.
Hamz works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Rubenstein. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Rubenstein dives in and grabs Hamz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hamz pushes down on Rubenstein's head and hops out.
Hamz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rubenstein looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Hamz lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Hamz paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Rubenstein shoots for a double leg takedown but Hamz sprawls well. He's pushed Rubenstein's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Hamz throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Good leg kick by Hamz there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rubenstein takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hamz stuns Rubenstein with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Hamz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rubenstein dives in and grabs Hamz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hamz pushes down on Rubenstein's head and hops out.
Hamz tries to bum rush Rubenstein with a series of wild strikes but Rubenstein uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hamz lands a leg kick that knocks Rubenstein off balance momentarily.
Hamz scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Rubenstein is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rubenstein takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Hamz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A right hook to the body lands for Hamz.

Rubenstein goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hamz prevents it.

Hamz feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rubensteins jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Hamz takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Hamz lands with a thumping leg kick.
Hamz lands a leg kick that knocks Rubenstein off balance momentarily.

Hamz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rubenstein looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Hamz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Donk. Hamz catches Rubenstein right on the button with a cross.

Rubenstein takes one to the side of the head.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hamz slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Fresh Hamz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hamz is pressed up against the cage. Rubenstein has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hamz down to the mat. Hamz avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Hamz digs a right hand underneath Rubenstein's ribcage. Rubenstein let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Hamz throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Hamz lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Hamz gets underhooks to prevent Rubenstein's takedown attempt.
Rubenstein changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hamz fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Rubenstein fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Saul Rubenstein has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Hamz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
