Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Ridgeley!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ridgeley is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Sass.
Ridgeley steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sass.
Sass misses with a series of wild punches.
Sass uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ridgeley.
Ridgeley slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Sass leaves Ridgeley with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ridgeley lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Sass fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ridgeley manages to avoid it.
Sass is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

No joy there for Sass, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sass rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ridgeley moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Ridgeley is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Sass had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Sass throws a right hand that Ridgeley ducks under and follows up with a left that Ridgeley also avoids with ease.
Sass lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ridgeley circles away quickly and effectively.

Ridgeley scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Sass shoots in for a takedown but Ridgeley shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sass stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sass wants it to stay on the feet.
Joey Sass has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Ridgeley.
Sass misses the jab.
Ridgeley connects with a jab.
Sass stuffs the takedown attempt from Ridgeley. Ridgeley gets slowly back to his feet.
Sass drops his hands momentarily and Ridgeley takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Ridgeley uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Sass has time to react.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ridgeley throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrew Ridgeley dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Sass has hold of Ridgeley's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Ridgeley tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Sass cranks the arm and Ridgeley screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Ridgeley, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
